No, not really. Your race might help somewhat. The only possible benefit in attending the same college as your older sibling might be in financial aid if your parents are paying for both of your educations.

I’m pretty sure that my brother got into college because I went there. They DO ask the question on many of the forms. If it isn’t on GMU’s, then maybe they don’t care too much.

And yes, race CAN help if you’re in a demographic that they’re “short” on.

Legacies (immediate relatives of alumni) do have an advantage at some institution. By the same token, some schools do aim to be inclusive in their admissions policies and they seek the best candidates from minority candidates.

Go ahead and apply and make sure you note the relative who is an alumni.

properly quite often 9th – eleventh grades are maximum severe to the colleges because of the fact once you be conscious your not finished with Senior year yet and many times they allow you to comprehend in the experience that your popular or not earlier the top of your senior year. yet there have been circumstances the place they don’t seem to confirm in the event that they opt to settle for you if our grades are mediocre to terrible, so they verify on your senior year grades to confirm in the event that they are going to settle for you. additionally make your you take part in many activities/golf equipment they are additionally very effective in moving into college. One final difficulty, in case you don’t get popular you are able to consistently bypass to an area college and attempt not hassle-free to arise your grades on your middle instructions for a year or 2 and notice in the event that they are going to then settle for you and pass you. terrific of success

Siblings and parents, etc help little or not at all at public universities. Being of an underrepresented ethnic group does help.

it would help if u dont say “related sibling” since if he /she isyour sibling he d better be related. It is called redundancy and it is very jarring to educated ears.
