Why isn’t 1-2 years college a requirement yet?

If college is so important in 2007+, then why doesn’t the government make it a requirement to attend some college?

The government doesn’t ever require that you finish high school. Let’s get think about that first before worrying about making everyone go to college.

The first thing unlike high school and other public forms of education is that Colleges cost money and is not a neccesary. Some people choose to go into trade skills so forth. At 18 people are considered adults and it is their decision to further their education if they wish. Also at this time I do not believe that we have enough institutions in place to support so many people. Also an AA degree at this time really isn’t much anymore beyond special focuses. College is important to some people and to others it is not.

Actually, Thomas is right, its not a requirement for students to graduate from high school. I know a lot of kids who drop out at 16 or even take the GED at 16 just to work for the rest of their lives. Also, I dont see as 1-2 years of college being very helpful. I think it should be a requirement for teens to get job at the age 16 and graduate from high. Getting a job as a teen will help them gain people skills as well as keeping them off the streets.

Why do you think the government should force everyone to do things?

Don’t you think that people should be allowed to make their own decisions for themselves?

Next, you’ll suggest the government set you up with a mate and force you to marry that person.

Because it’s not financially possible for everyone, unless the government wants to get off it’s *** and give people money for college. It’s also interferes with personal freedom.

Remember, the government loves class divides, and college provides that like not other.
