Who can get into med school?
Favorite Answer
Best of luck!
You will need:
A high GPA (higher than 3.5… preferably higher than 3.75)
A high science GPA (higher than 3.4 recommended)
6 recommendations from professors, volunteer workplaces, etc.
A good internship, work study, hospital volunteer work, etc.
A good MCAT score (ridiculously difficult)
An awesome essay/story for your application.
It is very difficult to get into and I wouldn’t even bother if you don’t know for a fact that you would be iffy about pulling it off.
Did you ever consider being a Physicians Assistant or something similar? They get paid fairly well and only go to a 2 year school after graduation. They don’t have to take the MCATs either.
Some more good news for you… once you get into college nobody cares how you did in HS. In fact, if you put anything regarding high school on your resume, you didn’t do enough stuff in college. So basically your record is reset… just do well in college and you can suceed in anything.
Medical school admittance depends on your college transcript and your MCAT scores.
Do well in college and you’ll be fine.
