which major would help me more?

i want to be an ob/gyn. I read that med. schools find it interesting to major in other fields that are non- science related. It like ” your unique” long as you take the required classes for med school your be okay. but i want to know if i do take a biology major would it help me more on the mcat test rather than majoring in pschology? so basically would majoring in pschology be a good choice or bad for the test?

most colleges have pre-med advisers in their science departments who can guide you through picking a major and, when it’s time, applying to med schools. i’d think science would be an appropriate major but making a point to take other classes for a minor in a totally different field would look good but also benefit you personally. to be an ob/gyn, you clearly need a background in biology, but psychology, sociology and women’s studies would be appropriate in addition to that. good luck!

Find both your interests and abilities and combine the two. You need apptitude testing for one. Also so you need to know how to pick a goal you can dedicate yourself to in the future, because you change over time and you learn more about yourself and others.

You maybe very talented in a field that you have not considered, so talk to a professional.

Good Luck!

A science major is probably going to be your best bet. The people on the admissions comittee are going to be MDs or PhD scientists. I think they will have little regard for a psychology degree.
