which college is better?

Ok. So I am two weeks away from accepting offers. I took a year off last year and I am attending school in Jan. The offers that I have recieved are from Seneca@York, Sheridan Davis campus and Traflagar campus, and George Brown Casaloma campus.

My only delimmas are…

Seneca@York – been put on hold for over an hour on the phone, been arguing with three booths for assisstance on my status, and sent emails on four different occasions and was only sent an email on the colleges website and their general phone line (which was a copy and paste email)

Sheridan (both) – both campus are within a 20 minute drive from my home which is good. Davis campus is closer and isn’t big on student teacher communication from what their students have told me. Sheridan seems so generic to me.

George Brown, Casaloma – Commute is going to be a b|tch! subway and bus for over an hour! I don’t know much about this place except my friends have gone there for culinary school.

What are your opinions?

First, call the admissions offices of the universities you’re considering transferring to later and ask them if they accept courses from the colleges you’re considering now. Any college that they won’t accept credits from, cross from your list.

George Brown – Unless you really want to go there, that daily commute is a big negative. However, remember that when you graduate from college, you might have a similar commute to work. I know I did. And yeah, I hated it. However, if it’s worth it, go for it.

The second one – Student-teacher communication is important. Did you only talk to a couple of people about this? Maybe only a few professors are like this and hopefully you can avoid their classes. However, if this is the norm, that’s not good. It doesn’t show dedication from the faculty at all. However, since the campuses are that close to you, it’s worth a shot to investigate further. What do you mean by Sheridan being generic? If it’s a good school and you think you’ll have a good experience there, then go for it. However, if George Brown is a better school, then you can keep yourself busy studying during the commute to make it easier to deal with.

Seneca – The fact that you can’t get them to communicate with you when you need information is a huge red flag. You want to go somewhere where student information and costumer service is a priority.

I think Sheridan seems the best option. However, you didn’t say what you want to major in and which school seems to have the strongest program/department for that major. Make that the most important part of your decision because that’s what’s going to affect your education the most. Good luck and congrats on getting into all three schools. -:)
