When should I start applying for colleges if I graduate in 2008?
Favorite Answer
Some colleges have application deadlines as early as January 15th, though most give you until March, and in real life you can just stroll in and register the week before classes at the big state universities, as long as you do not need financial aid.
If you are trying to get accepted to a college that is very competitive or seeking financial aid, you best get looking ASAP.
When my daughter was a junior in high school, she applied to 9 different colleges. We visited each one during the school year and during break times to see what goes on at each one. We actually visited some several times. She had her favorites and actually was offered various academic scholarships at 8 of them.
It took until the spring of her senior year to find out which colleges were most interested in her. Turns out that the one she wanted to attend the most was the last one to offer a financial package and admission.
She’s a Sophomore chemistry major now at Fordham U. in New York on a full academic scholarship. If she hadn’t applied early, she wouldn’t have been going there … the competition is very tough! Don’t wait!!
