What would a person with an M.A. in Sociology make (annual income) where you live?

Other qualifications – 5 + years research, many publications, 3+ Ph.D courses.

It depends on whether you become a fry cook or a travel agt.

These jobs will pay the same as jobs requiring Soc. Degrees.

Until you tack that “Dr.” label in front of and the PhD label after your name, there is no Quality job need in that field.

I’m glad you asked this Q. I was about to make this statement anyway due to all the “I’m starting College and want a degree in Psychology” Q’s I keep seeing here.

Pay attn. here I know what I’m saying. If your undergrad GPA

in Psych. or Soc. is say a 3.85 , which in most fields is excellent, you can forget getting accepted to Grad. program.

Why? Because the field is fun and interesting and therefore produces tons of BS degrees that then realize there no job for you that pays any $ w/o a PhD. And all the Grad Schl. Programs will be able to fill their limited # of openings with 4.0 GPA’s
