What to do, already have acceptance letter?

I graduated from HS in Aug. I sent an application to Prairie State College and have just recently got a letter of acceptance just a few more things need to be done to be set to start in January. Though, I did not know PSC is a 2 yr college. I want to be come a pediatrician and was going to major in nursing. I know I need to have 4yrs of undergraduate school. Yet I need to know whether I should do the 2 yrs at PSC and get my AAS(associates in applied science) for nursing then attend a basic 4 yr. for my additional 2 yrs or just go straight to a 4 yr. Again I am goin to become a pediatrician and want to major in nursing. Go with PSC(2yr) then transfer to a 4yr or go straight to a 4 yr ?

Since money seems to be a problem for you right now, I strongly recommend that you attend the 2 year college for now. Get an adviser at both schools to make sure that the classes you take will apply to both programs of study. This way after you finish your Associate degree you can transfer over to the 4 year school as a RN. You can then work as a RN while attending the 4 year school. Generally the 2 year school are 1/3-1/2 the cost of the longer four year school, so you are not only saving your self money now but you are putting yourself in a place to earn more money later while you finish your BSN.

Depends on what you ultimately want. If your goal is to save money than you should go to PSC and then transfer. Only do this though, after you have spoken with an advisor to determine if your classes will transfer. The worst thing is to get ready to finish at a 4 year school only to find out half your credits aren’t acceptable. But, if money isn’t that big of a deal and you have a 4 year school in mind right now, you should definitely apply.
