Check out pharmacy!

The advantages of becoming a pharmacist are:

1) Most jobs are 9-5 meaning that you will have time for family

2) It takes less time to finish and be licensed compared to dentistry and medicine

3) Most starting salary are 75-150k depending on location and need

4) You can get $1,000,000 malpractice insurance for only hundreds of dollars per year. compare that to medicine and dentristry

5) You will have a life and a job for the rest of your life

Go into the Sciences and complete a three year honours B.A. Then apply for Pre-Med…. you should get advanced standing or at least recognition for your 3 years of accomplishment (providing your grades are good). Try to align your sciences with what they take in Pre-Med.. which is about the same. You may even get away with two years in the sciences if your alignment and your grades is strong enough.

You need a 4-year college degree to apply to medical school. You don’t have to apply to a pre-med program – most schools offer these programs (it’s not a major, just a combination of classes in other majors). If you can get in somewhere, you can take the necessary classes, raise your GPA, and then apply to medical school. They won’t ask for your high school GPA, just college.

If your grades are really low, consider attending community college for a few years and then transferring to a 4-year college.

Just about anything in the hard sciences. Bio-Chemistry is a good one. I agree with the poster who told you to consider community college before entering a 4 year college. It will help you adjust to the college study load (It ain’t H.S. baby) and you get all of your boring credits out of the way so that when you transfer to a 4 year, you can concentrate on your major studies. Work hard and do well and you should be fine. Good luck 🙂
