I’m in my senior year of highschool and I really need advice on a good college to go to for a technical major in Electronics Engineering. I’ve considered ITT-Tech but I need some advice on this becuase some people say that you should go to a regular university. whats the big difference between the two?

If you’re in Milwaukee here are some excellent options.

MATC – http://www.matc.edu – plus if you take an AAS or AS program you can transfer to a four year college if you later decide that this is something you want to do.

The major difference between two and four year colleges is that in general two year colleges give career specific and/or technical programs while four year colleges tend to be more general education focused.

For the Milwaukee area some other good options could be:

Milwaukee School of Engineering – http://www.msoe.edu (a four year college but focused on engineering and related careers)

UWM – http://www.uwm.edu (a state university with a solid engineering department)

If you are hoping to be more involved with the practical side of electronics go with the two year option and if it’s the theory and design then a four year engineering degree could be useful. Either way you can start in a two year program and transfer.
