Some good majors could include exercise biology, anatomy and physiology, or neurobiology. Generally, any major is acceptable as long as the pre-req courses are completed but it’s best to stay within the health science majors such as the ones you mentioned and the ones I included. Good luck!

you will be changing your mind every year based on all the different psych classes you will be taking. And to be a pediatric speech therapist or physical therapy specialist you need to do extra school after your undergrad degree but staying in psychology will be most beneficial as you are learning how the brain works, how it affects different human skills etc so stay in psychology as it is a broad subject. I am specializing in psychology (B.Sc)and right now am leaning toward neurology/neuropsychology. Also, you should do some research on whatever it is youre interested in and see what you need in order to become a certain type of psychologist. You will definitely need a masters and might even need a PhD or MD. So don’t worry about deciding what you want to be as of yet.

I would echo what some others have said on here…it all depends on what PT school you are looking to go to. There are standard courses that they will require as prerequisites. As long as you are taking those courses, you should be fine. Remember, graduate school admission is becoming more and more competitive. Anything you can do to add variety to your academic program that will help make you stand out will help you get in. What does this mean? If you want to go in to PT, but you don’t want to major in biology or exercise science, that is fine. Take the pre-reqs and major in whatever field you want. This makes you “diverse” from the typical student.

Talk to your advisors at your undergrad program – they should know the pre-reqs required for most programs in your area.

Those are all good majors. In the end, however, it really doesn’t matter what your undergraduate degree is…as long as you’ve meet the prerequisite requirements for your graduate program. Therefore, it makes sense to choose a major that will encompass all these courses (which varies between schools). I suggest your review the prerequisites for the graduate school to which you hope to apply and then choose your major based on that.
