What’s a good decision for a prospective fashion student?
Should I just attend SMCC and then transfer to FIDM?
Or
Take out a loan for FIDM, because I’m soo passionate and determine to get right down to the aspects of the Fashion Major.
But if it’s possible I would like more information about FIDM, SMCC, and Pasadena City College. Because those two are the top comm. college I’ve heard about that are pretty good in California. If you can, please help me out! =)
Oh yea, if you can… Can you tell me the exact and accurate tuition of FIDM, because everywhere I check it says like 18,000 – 30,000 dollars, I would just like to know the EXACT number. THANK YOU!

Yes, it’s really pricey. If there are any classes you can take at a community college before transferring to FIDM, I think you should take them. That financial aid bill you’ll get when you graduate is no joke, so it’s best to take out the minimum amount of loans that you need. However, if you think that not going straight to FIDM now will hurt your education or creative opportunities, and you feel that the tuition bill is worth it, then go for it.
Here are the websites for SMCC and Pasadena City College:

How about visiting FIDM and talking to someone there about your concerns? Ask them how transferring works and what credits they would accept and whether or not they’ll accept them from the community colleges you’re interested in (just to be sure). That will help you make a better decision. You can also visit the fashion design department and talk to someone there as well as some of the students to ask them any questions you might have.
