For an accurate list go to a clothing store and read the labels. There are basically two types of fibers, natural and synthetic. natural come from cotton, wool, linen, and silk mostly, with some other new fibers now available like hemp, and some exotic animals like alpaca.
Synthetic fibers are all petroleum based and include the ‘ons’ like nylon, rayon, and the like as well as acetate, ramey, and polyester. Newer fibers like microfiber is a fine polyester thread, hence the soft feel – thin fibers=soft, like silk. Blends take advantage of textures. The down side to blends is that natural and synthetic fibers take dyes differently.
