What kinds of things should I pack my clothes in for college?

Do you suggest that I put them in plastic containers, suitcases, leave them on hangers, or all of the above?

I packed all mine in plastic containers or garbage bags. I think it honestly depends on what floor you are living on and weather or not there is an elevator. I know where I lived in the dorms we had carts that we could use to put our stuff on and since I lived in a place called ‘the Towers’ it was 8 stories high, so we had elevators (however they broke down several times during move in day) my friend lived in north campus, their buildings are only 4 floors high, she didn’t have any carts, and had to take everything up by hand. So I’d pack light if you don’t have elevator access, you can always go back home for labor day weekend (provided your close enough) most students do their freshman year.

I do all three. My very nice clothes are on hangers to avoid having to iron them. I usually cut a hole in the bottom of a cheap trash bag and put the hanger through that so that the clothes are covered and stay clean for transport. I put the rest of the clothes in my suitcases and in containers. Containers are cheaper but it helps to keep a suitcase around if you want to pack for a weekend and go back home or on a trip with friends.

Buy some of those plastic tubs. You will get tons of use out of them. They’re good for moving to and from college every year and they are great for when you’re home in the summer and you don’t want to unload everything. Bring hangers because you’ll have a closet and your suitcases for weekend trips home, but the bulk of what I would pack in are those plastic tubs. You won’t regret buying them.

Well it depends on how far away you’re going. If you’re going pretty far it’s probibly best to put them in a suit case (if you’re flying especially) or a plastic container. Leaving them on the hangers might not be a bad idea if you’re just traveling a little ways. What you have to remember is that whatever you pack them in you’re going to have to find a place to store in your dorm room or apartment. If you pack them in plastic containers will you have a place to put the containers once you’re done with them?

just put them all in a container, like a suitcase or something, or you could put them in a container that you are planning on bringing for storage anyway, like when you go to the store and you are buying a fish tank or something so you just put everything else that you are buying into the fish tank instead of getting a basket or trolley, do you get me?

you could leave your clothes on hangers in the container/suitcase and them when you take them out they can be hung instantly instead of having to tale them out, then put them on hangers and then put them on the wardrobe!!

good luck in college, what are you studying?

Try suitcases. I wouldn’t leave them on a hanger, because you might drop something, and It’ll get all dirty. If you use a suitcase, make sure you use some mothballs, or something of the sort.

i could convey a microwave and a mini refrigerator if the dorm allowed, some do. i understand some dorms enable a small television interior the room as long because of the fact the roommate is effective with it. If I have been you i could get a secure or some form of lock container to maintain any valuables in, it would not would desire to be an excellent one yet human beings would be much less probable to thieve from you in case you have your valuables locked up, plus it is going to likely be annoying for them to get into it besides so it only isn’t well worth their time. you could disguise it on your room. additionally in case you have a lap actual or a table workstation you will desire to convey that too. convey a conventional help kit with- band aids, gauze, tape, Tylenol, antibiotic ointment, sunlight block, insect repellent, ace bandage etc.. convey Q-suggestions, cotton balls, and peroxide. do not forget approximately fingernail and toe nail clippers. desire I helped :).

Suit Cases. easier for transport to different places. say after your first year sharing a Dorm you get to live off campus but you may not have your own car yet so you can pack up easily and load them onto a cart and shazam. Just don’t load them into a Shopping Cart. It Gives US the Wrong impression.

giant duffel bags that can be folded and shoved under your bed. Buy hangers at a store once you arrive (very cheap!)
