It depends on what you’re good at and interested enough in to do well at. So, for me, that could have been economics, or marketing, or art, or engineering, but not history (snore). I don’t know what you like, or what you’re good at.

Some people might say that, “Oh, X is such an easy major!” But that may only be true for them – not for you. So be careful re: what people recommend. Know yourself.

As for the FBI: Although technically any accredited, respectable four year degree will do, they do have specific hiring needs. If you have skills in these areas, you’d be more of a sure thing:

* Accounting

* Computer Science/Information Technology

* Engineering

* Foreign Language(s) Proficiency

* Intelligence Experience

* Law Experience

* Law Enforcement/Investigative Experience

* Military Experience

* Physical Sciences (e.g., physics, chemistry, biology, etc.)

Having this sort of experience or coursework/a degree in one of these areas, where appropriate, would give you priority in hiring.

I’ll link to a page that describes exactly what the FBI wants in their Special Agents. They also have opportunities as professional staff doing things like intelligence analysis, etc. Those jobs require a different set of skills, and thus different college majors. I’ll link, below.

Another thing that can really help is if you do an internship, during college, with the FBI. I’ll link, below.

Look through these links, and see what specific FBI career path most appeals to you, then pursue the major that will lead you in that particular direction. Good luck!

If you are just looking to get an easy degree you shouldn’t waste your time applying for the FBI. While they may only require an 4 year degree in anything, you will be competing with thousands of people for one job opening.

The FBI is incredibly hard to get into. Not only do you need a solid educational foundation but you need a spotless past. Among tons of other things. You need to stand out from the other applicants. You will have to go through testing, oral Board interviews, an extensive back ground investigation ( they will call almost everyone you have ever known), a Psychological evaluation, a physical fitness test, and a 22 week training program. They prefer that you be fluent in at least one foreign language as well.

So If I were you I wouldn’t be looking for the easy way out. The FBI has trained investigators interviewing you and they will see it a mile away.

Hi

Since you want to become an FBI agent, I suggest that you should major in Criminal Justice, but I think you should major in something you are really interested in instead of trying to find something that’s the easiest. I wish you luck in becoming an FBI agent.

To get into the FBI, you don’t want something easy. They are looking for the best of the best. Take criminal justice, a language, a science. An easy major won’t get you anything. The FBI wants the best.

I don’t know about the easiest, but I’d look into criminal justice or political science if I were you…good luck!

Even though there is not a specific major required, both of these will tailor more towards your interests.
