What is the difference between going to college and university?

I was wondering what is the difference of going to college to become a nurse or going to University to become a nurse. I was looking through the viewbooks and the programs seem almost identical.

Universities offer doctorate degrees, while colleges do not. Generally, universities are more prestigious schools. However, nursing is a unique field. The education is very applied. In your case, it probably doesn’t really matter which you attend. My recommendation would be to contact the recruiter for a great local hospital and ask which they would prefer to see on your resume when you apply in a couple years.

They are similar. The only difference between college and university is that colleges are smaller (and as a result, there’s more personal attention).

In the US, those two words are used interchangeably. Technically, a university is made up of several colleges. In the US, those colleges are arranged by discipline (all the engineering courses in one college, all the arts & sciences courses in one college, all the nursing courses in one college, etc).
