Is it hard? For some people it is. I don’t mean to sounds like I’m denigrating your field or profession, but the people I knew who had a harder time with the exam were ed majors. The people who took the test blind and passed were my friends who studied other fields (computer science, engineering, physics, chemistry … see a pattern here?) but couldn’t find jobs, so they decided to take a stab at teaching.

I have seen some of the test questions, and I feel pretty confident that I’d pass. But then again, I was a science student, and I have a master’s degree.

While I know a lot of people who would be brilliant at teaching music, arts, literature and so forth, I also know that math and science aren’t their strong suits, so they do have to prepare more for the CBEST than some folks.
