well you get to be alone and take decisions by yourself, and makes you more like an adult and not under mum’s or dad’s care.for me since i got to the university i take decisions on my own,i cook by myself, and i have met thousand s of people from different parts of the country.so i think for the fact that you are somewhat far away from your family and parents makes you feel like an adult who can be independent

My absolute favorite thing is the access to information that I have. I go to TxState University in San Marcos, TX, and it has the LARGEST single building university library in the nation. Millions of books and published articles are within this library, along with newspapers, microfiches, videos, audiotapes, magazines, that span several decades.
On top of that my student ID gives me access to a special database within the library that links out to nearly every scholastic and educational resource out there in the US. Millions of upon millions of articles are further within my reach to read and research.
I LOVE all of this, and find it to be the best thing in my university.

It is difficult to mention just one best thing.
i would say however it is the interesting people with a varied background that you will meet and the ability to broaden your horizons and partake of the culture that the university usually provides.
