Critical thinking skills. It looks like you have some already because you are at least asking this question.

College is not a tech school, meant to teach you one skill for a career. It is about teaching a person a wide variety disciplines in order for someone to have a set of life skills that can be applied in multiple ways…from picking the right investments for yourself to having the flexibility to move from one occupation to another rather seamlessly.

good question. the short answer would be… a job. but that’s not always the case. I have a degree and a dead end job that requires no degree. In fact the longest i was ever unemployed was after i received my bachelors degree. Now what i did get from college was a well rounded and open way of thinking. The plethora of knowledge and idea i was exposed to, assist me in many different tasks… though none of which are really work related. I think it betters your way of thinking and helps you see the world from multiple perspectives.

The ability to get a better job than working retail, preferably either one you really enjoy or one that pays really well. What else?
