What does the English course described as “writing about self and mind” entail?

I signed up for an English course next semester which is described as “writing about self and mind.” What do you think this will be like? Has anyone taken the course?

Try asking someone at your institution who has taken the course. Or look up the instructor and ask him or her! They won’t mind. If I were teaching that course, I would expect students to understand self-reflection and the complexities of the human mind. It DOESN’T say that it is a course about exposition or writing about your opinions…

Isn’t it rather self explanatory? You’d be writing about yourself and your experiences. I think when it says just “self and mind” and not “yourself and your mind” they’re just trying to be objective and “scientific” to give people the impression that it’s the study the “self” and the “mind” when it probably isn’t. That would be a psychology class. Perhaps the describers where aiming at psychology majors.

But, being an English course, it’s just going to be about your personal, or other’s personal, experiences and writing comprehensively about it, cuz it’s not psychology.

This sounds like a fun class…I imagine writing about yourself, what you think about, pretty much, the topic is up to you. I wonder if the local schools around here have that class.
