I know it’s scary, but you WILL get in somewhere! If you did badly freshman year, what colleges really want to see is that you have IMPROVED. If your grades have been getting better, they will probably excuse your freshman year grades.

Your SAT’s or ACT’s will be more important if you have had a bad GPA. You should take either the SAT or ACT and then probably 2 SAT II’s (although it depends on each uni’s requirements.) If you’re nervous about how you will do, you can start studying now! It’s never ever too early.

Also, don’t ignore extracurriculars. Join a club or sports team–you want to show that you are a leader/involved in the community and in your school.

Good luck and stay strong!

As long as you work hard and maintain good grades throughout the rest of your high school years you shouldn’t be worried about getting into college. basically, just keep up the effort and do your best on the SAT’s come junior and senior year.

P.S. Try not to slack off during senior year even after you are accepted because colleges do check to see if you’re keeping up. hope this helps and good luck!
