Two years ago, my daughter was a junior, and that was the most difficult year. Not only the AP classes but the SAT, state achievement exams, the AP exams plus applications and visits to colleges. Senior year was a breeze and she got into her first choice. She is an entering college freshman this year.
As a college professor and a mom, I want my daughter to chill and relax. Life is stressful enough and being able to handle stress is something only YOU can address. You should be taking AP courses for you and for your love of the topics NOT for anyone else.
The formula for studying college courses is for every hour spent in class, at least 2-3 hours studying is spent outside of class. Taking 6 AP classes is approximately 18 hours [college course] which means about 36-54 hours studying per week. Can you fit that amount of studying? Colleges want to see community service, work experience and extra curricular activities. How will you do this?
Examine your motivation fortaking 6 AP courses and your level of energy…I wish you well.
