What are the requirements for becoming a pediatrician?

What classes MUST you take to become a pediatrician? How long will it take? Can you graduate early? If so how early? What are the benefits of being a pediatrician? What are the cons? What other stuff should i know before finally deciding that i want to be a pediatrician?

Can ya’ll please help me by answering at least a few of my questions?

Thank You.

You need to go to college as an undergraduate for four years. You need to take all of the Pre-Med classes — but it is better to take more than the minimum required — so you should major in biology or chemistry. You should go to the best college you can get into to improve your chances of getting into medical school.

After graduating, you need to go to medical school for four years. While you may have the opportunity to take some classes that will help with your specialization (pediatrics) — most of the classes will be the same that any medical student will take.

After getting your MD, you will spend a minimum of three years as an intern and resident in your field of specialization. Then you take the board exam to be certified in your field.

There are some schools that allow you to get your BS and MD in seven years rather than eight — but there are no shortcuts other than that.

The link below tells you what classes you have to take to get into medical school.

What you’re looking at is medical school, plus a pediatric internship. You’ll be getting your M.D., and then do a specialty (usually at least a couple more years) in pediatrics. Pediatricians are generally in high demand; after all, everybody has kids! The pay can be good, but it can be emotionally draining; kids tend to either be essentially healthy, or REALLY sick. Don’t worry about graduating early; just hope you can graduate on time. If you’re still in high school, take as much science as you can, and at least get through the first year of calculus.
