What are my chances of getting into a UC with my current gpa?

In sophomore year my gpa was only 3.0 weighted. But currently in Junior year it is a 4.0. I’m taking four AP classes. Do colleges notice the improvement in GPA’s or do they just calculate the weighted GPA?

Yes you should still get into a school if you want. I’d forget about the elite schools, and start looking for other Universities. But Universities definitely look at improvement over your high school career, since the student they will be getting is the student that you are in your junior and senior years, not the student you were during your freshman and sophomore years. Does that make sense? It shows you had to go through an adjustment period but that you eventually adjusted and was able to perform at a very high level. Colleges love that.
