The University of North Texas’s music department is very well known and respected. Several musicians have either studied there or graduated from there. Most recently, Norah Jones studied at UNT some time back.

Check out the UNT music department homepage.

It all depends on what you mean by “good.” Some factors might be location, level of performance ability in most of the students, teachers (related to the previous), cost of living, type of music you want to play, types of programs. Pretty much hard to tell by guessing.

Violin, mallots and vocals is an unusual combination,. however. Sounds like a career in commercial music might be the thing for you, or jazz performance. Depends on where you want to live, how much you want to spend, how much you want to be challenged.

University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, is a good jazz place. The cost of living is, like, ZERO, compared to other places, and it’s a sleepy little college town west of Dallas, where there’s a lot of freelancing. They have scholarships, too, orchestra and band. PhD’s in things like saxophone. Lots of their undergraduates go on to stunning careers and/or graduate school at places like Juilliard.

Just an idea.

Good luck!

Juliard, but it’s harder to get into than Harvard. Consider Oberlin College and Ithaca College. Oh, and Yale, but they have free grad school for musicians if you can get in, so you might want to wait until grad school to apply.
