What are flashcards programs and wich one is for general learning?

I have just discovered that there is something called flashcards…. i have been reading about them.. then I found that there are also flashcard software, but some of them are only for learning languages, I want to donwload a good one for general purposes.

You could always buy a pack of 3×5 cards and make your own. That way you can use them whenever and wherever you are. You also learn the information as you make the cards which you doesn’t necessarily happen if the ‘cards’ are electronic.
