University of Texas at Austin?

Right now, I’m ranked 134 in my class out of 594. I’m 22% in my class. My school is in Texas by the way. I got a 1960 on my SAT (670 math, 660 c. reading; 1330 overall), but I plan on retaking. I also plan on taking ACT.

I think I’m pretty healthy in my extracurriculars. The more prominent ones would be orchestra, pals, nhs, and myac. I got other stuff too.

Do you think I can get into UT? What I really want to do is go into chemical engineering, but isn’t their chemical engineering school top notch in the country? Would it be more difficult for me to be accepted?

UT Austin is a really good school ( ranked No 44 in US news America’s best colleges 2008) but i think you have a fairly good chance of getting in especially if you raise your SAT scores. just make sure your essay is unique and i think you can do it! i was going to apply also, but then changed my mind

UT is so overcrowded!!! If you can’t get in to Austin, some of my friends went to UTSA first and are going to transfer to Austin, since apparently that’s easier than going there in the first place, unless you’re in the top 10% of your class.
