Undergrad student planning to apply to medical school?

I currently intend to graduate with a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences, but I still have about 2 years to go. I am wondering if this is a good choice for a major, since I plan to apply to medical school. Should I be majoring in something like Biology instead? Just wanted some helpful feedback, thanks.

As long as you take the science prerequisites for medical school, your major doesn’t matter. You don’t have to major in biology; plenty of people have majored in art, philosophy, sociology, computer science, etc. and ended up in medical school.

If you’re enjoying Nutritional Sciences, then stick to it because you have the best chance of getting great grades if you enjoy what you’re studying. Also, do something on the side that shows you can take initiative and that you’re curious, and volunteer to show that you have compassion for others. Good luck on your application process.

You can major in anything and still go to medical school. What you should be doing is checking with your school to make sure you are taking the appropriate pre-med classes. Each school should have an office of post-graduate study or a similar office that can help you with selecting the proper pre-med classes as well as navigating the complex application process.

Good luck. Don’t wait any longer–the pre-med track may have several courses, and you’ll want to start taking them as soon as possible. (Some, however, may have already been a part of your NS degree.)

You’re in a great major for med school. Frankly, med schools don’t provide much instruction in nutrition and obviously, you know how important the subject is. So stick with it and just pick up the prereqs.

Yes, both the federal Stafford and GradPlus loans are available to medical students. Both have low, fixed interest rates. Your private student loan should not affect your eligibility for either loan.

If you are planning to enter medical school itis better to take

an under graduate degree that can help you better to unders

tand subjects related to the study of medicine. You will find

difficulty in understanding medical terms if your undergraduate degree is not related to the study of medicine.

i suggest that you take medical technology or biochemistry.

You are fine. What you need to meet are the prerequisites for the sciences.
