I would just like to congratulate you on your 180 turnaround with your schoolwork! Honesty, UCs don’t really look at freshman grades, and even if they do, they will see that you have improved. However, that does not mean you should fall back into those bad grades again, just becase you’re improving. You have to try and get all straight A’s to make up for freshman year.

I applaud you on all your clubs-I see you are getting more involved in extra-c’s. BUT the MOST IMPORTANT thing in getting into college (other than SATs and grades) is DOING ONE REALLY IMPORTANT THING that is all yours. Something you put A LOT of time into. I HIGHLY recommend starting your own club at school. Do something you believe in. Be captain of a team, president of a club. Those help the most. A lot of small things does not compete with focusing on one big project where you get great results. Not only will this help you with college admissions, but also SCHOLARSHIPS as well.

Trust me, I went through college admissions last year (accepted to Cal and UCLA–I turned down both, though) and I’m pretty sure I’ve studied “the game” enough to know how it works. just be aggresive and determined, you wiill get what you want. Always take AP classes. all that, and you’re golden.

Good luck!

Same here. what’s your safe school, or school you definitely know you have the ability to get into? Good luck to! I am currently taking College Electronics 1-3, College Accounting 1-3, one year of Ethics, 1 year of Everything Business, H. Spanish 1-2, and Honors/AP French 4-5. Tennis 2 years and football 2 years.

Freshman and senior grades are not included in your UC GPA calculation, so maintain your excellent grades in sophomore and junior years and you’ll be fine.

Your grades, test scores, extracurricular activities are very important, as well as the rigor of your coursework, number of a-g courses you complete, and participation in educational preparation program.
