As for getting in, like most things, it’s mainly about grades and scores (if required). If your are high enough, that gets you in the door. Extra currics and stuff might help tip the balance if you’re borderline, but I’ve noticed most pharmacist applicants don’t have the most impressive list of extra currics so I can’t imagine they’re all that important.

The final factor, or ultimate gatekeeper, seems to be the interview. That’s scary because, like a personal essay, whether yours is good or not ultimately depends on the vagaries of the person listening to you. My wife is an excellent interviewer. I’m sure that’s what got her into pharm school b/c her GPA was just a tiny bit lower than the number people normally think of as the cutoff (there’s no real hardline cutoff, but your chances do drop dramatically after a certain point).

Getting a scholarship to pharmacy school is very difficult, however getting one during pharmacy school is not. You just need to get GREAT (not good) GRADES and are involved in the pharmacy profession.
