Summer vs. 5 years?

I’m currently attending GVSU for the fall 2007/winter 2008 school year as an English Major/Elem. Ed. Minor. The coursework is normally completed within 5 years. I was wondering if it would be cheaper to take the fives years, or to take summer courses, making it a 3-4 year degree???

It might be worth it to take at least a couple courses during the summer, just a part-time thing. That way you aren’t as pressed to take so many hours during the fall and spring. You may even build up enough summer hours to shave off a semester at the end… It’ll also free up some time for you to get a job and have some extra money.

It wouldn’t be cheaper because you’re not really paying by semester or year you’re paying by credit but you may save some money because college fees tend to be cheaper during the summer, other than that it doesn’t really affect the overall cost. It’s good to take some summer classes tho just so you’re not taking so many classes during fall and spring and to help you if you wanted to graduate earlier.

I suggest taking the longer route and leaving your summers for relaxing and working on yourself. You will need this time to recoop to be ready for the following year. In the whole scheme of things 1 year will not make the difference.
