Should I go to college outside of my state?

Because I really REALLY do not want to go to school in Illinois, it’s just boring here.

What are the pros and cons of going out of state?

Pros – get a clean break with your past, see the world, expand your horizons, have way more schools to choose from

Pros for staying in state – easy to see your family and friends, cheaper if it’s a public university. If you go to a small school, and you eventually want to work near where you grew up, people often won’t know it out of state and its degrees won’t be worth very much.

Not all always apply – if you’re from the Chicago suburbs, you’d be closer to home at Notre Dame than at Urbana-Champlain. But if you think Illinois is boring, you’re probably not from Chicago.

Pros of going out of state:

1> You will be able to check out those free gyms in California if you can afford air tickets to fly back and forth.

2> You can stay away from your parents without being watched all the time.

3> You can save a lot for your parents if you go to a public school (you pay in-state tuition).

4> You no longer have to suffer the boring IL πŸ™‚

Cons:

1> You won’t have your parents help you all the time!!

2> You pay higher tuition.

3> You could easily get lost when starting at the “remote college”.

4> You get bored pretty soon by another state πŸ™‚

5> You won’t have all your Old friends playing volleyball with you.

Hey girl, this is my opinion on your precdiciment.

Out of State Pros: Chance to explore new partz of the country, you get to meet more people outside of your area. Although its more expensive their are scolorships for everyone and there are cheap out of state schools as well. Not all out of state schools are hard to get into only some. also if transpertation is an issue there are many cheap ways to travel as long as you find good deals and search around. although you will be missing your family and frendz you will be able to reconnect with them on breaks, most of your friendz will probably be out of state too they arent all waiting for you.

Instate Pros: instate colleges are most certanily cheaper and more easily acceasible. they also allow you to return home quicker and easier and cheaper if you are ever needed to return home. if you want to stay instate but travel as well you should look into studing abroad, its a great way to broaden your horizons!! you will still be able to meet diverse people beacsue there will be people coming from all over the united states.

whatever you chose im sure will be the right decision for you! follow your heart. <3 GOOD LUCK SWEETIEEE

Huh, Illinois? You must REALLY be in a boring state to think IL is more exciting.

The biggest con is that it will cost more. If you have the money, then go for it, else stay in state.

Hell ya, you’re want to get out of our Rustbelt! I am 18 and am going to school at Blackburn College in Southern Illinois. It sucks here.

I wanted to go to school in the Bay area but my mom would not let me.

Anyways, i would go somewhere warm!

Best wishes.
