Screenwriter?

I would love to become a screenwriter. I love writing, and working on scripts, creating stories and building up characters is something I have always loved.

The only thing is film schools such as USC and other top-notch schools admit like 8% of students every year, it’s very competitive. I want to think realistically, if I don’t get in to such schools, what can I do? Can I go to some other schools which are a little easier to get in and still make a good living as a screenwriter? Or just because I don’t go to USC, UCLA, NYU and such, I won’t be as successful?

I just don’t want to graduate university and not be able to find jobs as a screenwriter?

I also enjoy screenwriting, but I’m not quiting my day job anytime soon. It is a very difficult field to get into, even if you go to those top notch schools. My suggestion would be to write a screenplay, or many and look for an agent. Just because you go to USC or UCLA doesn’t mean your going to be a successful screen writer. And just because you went to a different school it also doesn’t mean your not going to be successful. Its all about hunger, ambition, and your writing!!!

What a funky question! I could say particular, all our techniques are efficient screenwriters, however the concern lies in we at the instant are not all continuously conscious of what techniques are writing the play. Many advantages!

When you’re a writer it doesn’t matter WHICH school you graduated from…what matters is how good you are.

I’d go ahead and apply to the CA and NY film schools, and also apply for a few backups just in case. You never know unless you try ;).
