Your project proposal

If you think you have a potential project you should contact the relevant Programme Manager, who will initially assess that the proposal is suitable. If this is suitable, you will be assigned a Developer from the Agency, who will work with you in developing your idea, as well as explaining the process and timescales involved. The role of the developer is also to support you throughout the development of the project.

Each project will be assessed regularly to ensure One NorthEast achieves value for money from any funding made available.

The development phase

There are 4 key stages during the development phase:

Acceptance into the business/investment plan

Sign off of the projects business case

Independent review of business case

Approval consideration

You will be contacted at the end of each stage to let you know the progress of your project. This allows the opportunity to highlight and clarify any issues that may have arisen within these stages. This development and appraisal process is designed to ensure a robust project is developed.

Project Management and Verification

Once you receive a Funding Allocation Letter and have accepted this, a meeting will be arranged between yourselves and the Agency’s project Deliverer to explain the terms and conditions. This meeting will be arranged within three weeks of acceptance of the Funding Allocation Letter. A schedule of verification visits will also be agreed at this meeting.

The benefits

The procedures as outlined in the Project Handling Framework are designed to make project development easier to understand. It ensures you have guidance and assistance throughout the process and ensures the Agency supports the type of project it is looking for.
