Pre-Med……?

On to the real issue… Yes, you can get that BA in Physiology and still go off to medical school. You’ll need to be certain that you’re getting the necessary pre-requisite course work for med school (2 semesters of bio – no problem; 2 semesters of intro chem; 2 semesters of organic chem; and 2 semesters of physics). So as long as your degree either includes those courses *or* leaves you the flexibility to get them in as electives, you’re just fine.
Last point… The truth of the matter is that BA’s usually offer students more opportunities to develop their critical thinking skills, something terribly important to success as a physician (or scientist). So keep this in mind as you go through your other courses, and it may work to your advantage. Good luck!
You can major in anything you want, as long as you get the admissions requirements done for the Med School you want to attend.
My advice is to major in something that you enjoy…and minor in Pre Med. That way you can be sure to get the science requirements done for Med School. Most people choose to major in Biology or Chemistry because the Med School prerequisites closely resemble the major program description for those majors.
Colleges like to throw curves at you…Physical Education is usually taught through a college of Science, but you have a choice between a BA or BS…BS just has more of a science component to it.
