Pittsburgh/Carnegie Mellon University Opinions?

What’s the real Pittsburgh? What happens there, what’s there to do, and how urban is it, really?

Also, what about Carnegie Mellon University? Is it academic or a party school? How is it run, etc?

Honest opinions here, please!

Pittsburgh is what I would call a small city. It’s not like New York City or anything, but it is still a city. There are a lot of things to do and places to go in Pittsburgh. Andy Warhol Museum, Mattress Factory (a modern art museum), Theaters (ballet, musicals, plays, opera, movies, etc.), Carnegie Museum, Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium, Ross Park Mall, etc.

Carnegie Mellon is considered to be an academic school HOWEVER, if you attend Carnegie Mellon and want to go out to parties/clubs, the University of Pittsburgh is right next to Carnegie Mellon, and they tend to have more parties. The University of Pittsburgh is not a “party school”, but the students do like to go out, so if you want to party you can, if not, Carnegie Mellon is a great academic school.

Carnegie Mellon is more known as an academic school. It is one of the schools that is said to not have a great social life, because students usually revolved their social life around studying, doing their homeworks.

Carnegie Mellon is a great school.
