Hi, I live in State College and am a graduate of Penn State. It is a beautiful campus similar to what you would picture when you think of an Ivy League school, even though it is not one. Beautiful elm trees, large campus, and a mix of historic architecture and newer buildings. The people are extremely friendly and has the largest alumni network in the nation, making job hunting easy after graduation. The town is small, but lively during college session and generally safe. Your class sizes will most likely be on the large side however, until you start specialilzing in classes specific to your major. Some of my classes were 400-500 people, so be prepared. It is a fun school, with a great town and friendly people. I wouldn’t have traded my experience for anything – I loved it. And of course, if you enjoy football, it will be the perfect university for you. Good luck in your search!

Penn State is one of the better public universities in the country — and better than any public university you will find in Louisiana.

I’ve heard great things about Penn State. People who have gone there love it.

Good luck

do not pass to Penn State (exceedingly once you’re drawn to pursuing medical college)! I graduated and that i can inform you it is between the worst laid out courses in the college. eighty 5% of the professors that instruct the mandatory pre-med training do not care and can particularly have interaction of their study. type high quality is terrible (i.e. listening to a professor study straight away off the powerpoint slides, no lively gaining knowledge of or assessment of extreme thinking skills, labs are poorly carried out, over-sized training, etc.) The pre-medical advisers are very out-of-touch (have little or no wisdom of the admissions technique, as evidenced with the aid of the reality which you will hear numerous issues popping out of each and every adviser’s mouth) and could discourage you from using even in case your grades and MCAT scores are solid. not in basic terms that, it is totally overpriced for the undesirable instruction high quality you get! ward off this place. Pitt is a a lot safer selection because of the fact they have between the main suitable wellness facility networks in the international and the admissions workplace and undergraduate pre-medical advisers talk very many times, so as that they are far extra knowledgable.
