Hi

Some employers may be skeptical of any online degree, but a lot of employers are becoming more acceptable of online degrees. Your instructor should post reading assignments and other assignments on the course’s website. Does the university use a course management system such as Moodle or Blackboard? If it uses either, then that is where you will go to view info about your class. If you do attend an online university, whether it is the University of Phoenix or not, make sure that it is accredited. This is what I told someone about accreditation in another question (It’s the 2nd answer):

I hope this helps you and I wish you the best of luck with your degree.

Hi, Are you already enrolled in UoP? If not check out the great and accredited and well respected online master’s programs offered at the University of Maryland, University College. www.umuc.edu. I am in the MS in Biotechnology Studies program. It is a challenging program. Online classes anywhere are going to involve a lot of reading , writing, and study time–probably more so than an live classroom. Still–there’s not commute and you can go to class in your pj’s at 3 a.m if you want. The hardest part for me so far has been the group projects–which are hard in any setting. But in the online environment some participants just put forth the effort.

Also, the online environment lowers some barriers because class members and faculty pay less attention to things like physical appearance or a foreign accent or race–because of course–no one can see you. Good luck with your studies. I love my online classes and have learned more than I would have otherwise I think.
