It means that those requirements don’t apply to you any longer if you’ve been out of school for more than five years. Many schools have the same deal – it just means that your HS GPA and your SAT scores aren’t important anymore once you’ve been out of school that long.
This isn’t something to be upset about, in your case it’s a big plus.
“if an applicant has been out of high school for more then 5 years , these requirements will be waived” …..
What requirements?
To have required waived means
1. To give up (a claim or right) voluntarily; relinquish. See Synonyms at relinquish.
2. To refrain from insisting on or enforcing (a rule or penalty, for example); dispense with: “The original ban on private trading had long since been waived” William L. Schurz.
3. To put aside or off temporarily; defer
So it sounds to me whatever the requirements ….they don’t apply if you have been out of school for 5 years.
So are you unhappy because you haven’t been out of school for 5 years? If so, wait until you meet that criteria.
If you are unhappy that you don’t have to meet those requirements (which you didn’t mention what they were), well, I guess you have to learn to live with disappointment.
But I am not sure what you are so upset about. Most folks would simply LOVE not having to meet some entrance/admissions requirements.
