No AP means no college?!?
I am an incoming Sophmore to Francis Lewis High School. In my previous high school I was going to take the AP World History course, but even after many efforts it seems like I just won’t get it, and its practically the beginning of October. I’m only in Global History honor, but is it really bad that I couldn’t take AP World for colleges such as NYU and even the Ivy Leagues? I plan to take the maximum amount of AP’s for my junior and senior years but I just want some advice. Although my guidance counsler is trying hard to get me into AP World even this late in the semester, I just want to know if its really bad for college. Thank you for your help!

Really, it’s not going to matter that much. Colleges are looking for more than credits and grades. Make sure you have a life outside of school that includes some work experience and volunteer service. Good colleges are looking for someone who has a passion, not just intelligence. Don’t set your hopes on an Ivy League school unless you can afford it and never pay more for a year of college education than you will make in a year of your chosen profession when you get out!

Honors is still good, and you need like a straight A average to get into an ivy league, so don’t get your hopes up on that one buddy..

If you take other AP classes – then no, it probably won’t matter in the slightest.
