Your HS GPA will not affect whether you get into Medical School or not. It may influence what colleges you can attend, but even that does not really matter. My dad went to a small public college in SW Colorado and got into the Univ. of Colorado Med. School.

To get into MOST medical schools you must complete or maintain the following:

Minimum Undergraduate GPA of 3.6

Score well on the MCAT

Take 1 year of Organic Chem. with a lab section

Take 1 year of General Chem. with a lab section

Take 1 year of Physics with a lab section

Take at least 16 semester hours of Biology with Lab

Those are the BASIC requirements. Most schools suggest that you also take some Biochemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, Calculus, and Genetics, though as previously stated, these are not required.

What it breaks down to is keep your nose in the books in college and get mostly A’s with few B’s and study hard for the MCAT. If you really want to do this, it won’t be a problem for you.

a 3.3 is average in my highschool. I graduated with a 3.97 in high school, and a 4.46 from college. Before you can go to med school, you must complete undergrad school. I majored in chemistry and neuroscience. I finnished number 7 out of 3000+ students. So i would say for highschool, it can be alot higher,, and if that were college, it would be low. Never the less, congrats on doing well, and continue to strive for the best!
