Many people can’t afford a college education. Is this discrimination? Shouldn’t knowledge be free?

If you want free knowledge, check out your local public library.

Well, if knowledge were free, teachers wouldn’t make that much money, would they? Because colleges and school couldn’t afford all the nice perks that attract people to become members of faculty. And then eventually no one would want to be a teacher, if they could only get minimum wages. Besides, do you want the government to be paying for school, because really, how good would the education be?

Just imagine if all schools were free, the government would have to pay for ALLLL the education in all the schools in the nation. Everyone would get minimum education at best. This is what happens to some public school systems.Tuition is free, but the funding necessary to run the schools is limited.

UNLESS, you want taxes to go sky high to pay for all that free education. I don’t think anyone wants that either. The way it is now, the government and the colleges themselves provide grants and loans, to pay for tuition, and you can get a pretty decent education because some people (like rich kids) pay cash up front for their own tuition. That money helps subsidize education for the rest of us. I do think there should be more help towards funding education, but should we make it free? You know that in life you get what you pay for! If education is free, how much is it really worth?

Anyway, if college tuition were free, a lot of people would go to university just to party and goof off. At least now, most people don’t waste time with all that because they are paying for it! (unless they have rich parents who are footing the bill!)

I DO NOT KNOW WHERE YOU GET THE IDEA OF “DISCRIMINATION”. IN MY OPINION TO GET THE EDUCATION IS A PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. HOW MUCH AND WHICH FIELD YOU ARE INTERSTED IS UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL.

IF YOU NEED GUIDANCE THEN THERE ARE PROFESSIONAL TO GUIDE YOU.

IF SOME ONE CAN NOT AFFORD THEN THERE ARE WAYS AND MEANS TO GET MONEY.

LET’S LOOK THIS WAY. YOU ARE INVESTING MONEY IN YOUR FUTURE. YOUR INITIAL INVESTMENT IS GOING TO MULTIPLY MANY MANY TIMES.

I BELIEVE THERE IS A CHINESE SAYING WHICH GOES LIKE THIS:

” DO NOT GIVE SOMEONE FISH EVERYDAY. TEACH HIM HOW TO FISH.”

WHILE WE ARE ON THE SUBJECT THE EDUCATION IS GETTING EXPENSIVE DAY BY DAY. BECAUSE UNIVERSITIES HAVE TO PAY THE PROFESSORS AND THEY NEED MORE AND MORE MONEY TO AFFORD THEM.

I HOPE I MADE MY POINT CLEAR:

EDUCATION IS AN INVESTMENT IN YOUR LIFE AND THE MORE YOU INVEST THE MORE YOU WILL REAP.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Knowledge is free. The buildings cost money to build and operate. The teaching staff cost. One of the largest costs a school has is damage and defacing of the school property. Equipment in labs etc. cost……….What do we do have a college with nothing but students?

Everyone is FREE to work. Things are offered without a cost aren’t typically appreciated. Everyone has opportunities of different scales to pursue education.

it cant be free, otherwise nobody will care and its value will decrease…. its better to have more scholarships than to have education free…
