Many adults would find it embarrassing or humiliating to drink from a baby bottle. Why is this?

My guess is that drinking from a baby bottle seems humilating because it represents a regression in age. Like an adult becomes a baby. No one likes to be called a baby as it says that you’re not fully capable of taking care of yourself.
However, there was a time when I was in Junior high that sucking on a pacifier was the “in” thing. Not sure why, but I always saw it as ridiculous. But, whatever!
