Majors that work well with Psychology?

I’m planning on majoring in Psychology but would like a backup major as well. Are there any majors that would be easy to get if I’m already majoring in Psych? (required classes overlap)

Marketing- If you like I/O psychology and consumer psychology you’ll love it. And a graduate degree is not required to find a job (as it is for almost all careers in psy). Management, Sociology, and Political Science are also other options.

Spanish or French- if you get fluent and get the MA in psych, you will never be without a job!

But, psych is only a good major if you care about it. Otherwise you will be awful at it, since it is all about people, so don’t do this if you don’t love it. If you do, then realize that you have to do grad school (MA at the least) and that it isn’t about ‘getting somewhere.’ That’s not what college is about, as you will see.

john is cool
Public Health, its different enough that it will open up a lot more doors for you, and its close enough that it complements a psych degree very well. Its also a strong field on its own, very intersting, and has a wide array of possibilities. Also pretty easy to go on to get a master’s degree.

I think sociology would be ok; it is more or less the same thing on a larger scale. 🙂
