I took a real estate course completely online for the state of Virginia and got my license within 6 or 7 months. I’m not doing anything with it yet… but I intend to in the next few years.

The Real Estate program will prepare you to work and excel in the real estate community at both the local and national levels, and to adapt to future changes in the industry. Because real estate professionals are required to understand a wide variety of professional business fields, the Real Estate program curriculum includes courses from many departments in the Driehaus College of Business.

As a Real Estate major, you will acquire:

A comprehensive body of knowledge that will strengthen your financial and analytical skills, including risk analysis, portfolio construction and management, cash flow analysis and investment strategy
An understanding of the organizational structure of financial institutions and the impact of financial markets on real estate
The ability to articulate a site development strategy
An understanding of the basic laws and regulations governing land use
Knowledge of how historical development of real estate impacts present and future development patterns
An understanding of how architectural and urban history provide insights into real estate analysis and valuation
