If you don’t care about what interests you the most, you’ll have a much easier time getting a job if you become a nurse.

It really comes down to what you have a passion for. That ol’ adage, “if you love what you do, you’ll never have to work a day in your life” comes to mind. It seems that nursing would give a broader range of job opportunities than someone who majored in political science, however, if you are not happy doing that kind of work, you will be miserable and unfulfilled. Nursing is supposed to be quite mentally and physically draining. I was under the impression though that political science majors don’t have many options except looking into attending law school.

Perhaps you should also ask yourself where you would like to take your political science degree when trying to figure out which direction to steer towards in school. And you don’t have to decide right away. Perhaps taking a couple science courses and business/political science courses may help you choose.

And on the note of loving what one does, Farrah Gray, author of ‘Reallionaire’, is a young male millionaire who suggests asking oneself this question when trying to figure out what career to pursue: “What would I do for years and years to come and not have to get paid?” It really gives one food for thought even though it seems so basic 🙂
