Actually no. You wont be out of place depending on your environment. At my university many students bring their laptops class to take notes instead of the old paper and pencil. Just make sure your professor is ok with it (if others bring theirs, bring yours) because some professors hate laptops in their classes.

Everyone has their own opinions and experiences with this. Im a community college student, returning after being out of school for almost 6 years. I bought a lap top. Ive taken it to school and almost left it. Now it sits at home, im to afraid to lose it. I do fine with a pad and pencil for notes, then transfer them to computer if I have time or feel the need to afterwards. However i know some people that would be lost with out their laptops, they can be a great tool for you.

If you want to bring it, and are quick using it I say go ahead. Don’t leave it behind, you wouldn’t believe some of things Ive left in classes. lol. Make sure its okay with your professors, some don’t like laptops in their classes, some don’t mind either way.

I’m not sure if you will be out of place; it will depend on the atmosphere of your community college.

I think using a laptop for notes depends on the type of class you are taking. In most of my classes I was fine with paper and pen notes. I only had one class where I took my laptop. In that class the professor talked very fast and covered a lot of material, so it was necessary to have one.

I would make sure it is okay with your professor first. Also, be prepared in case your laptop dies in the middle of class.

Paper you won,t lose it to a virus and you don’t have to worry about the battery dying.
