Ive just got a question about structuring an essay?

Hi

You know how you have an introduction paragraph…

then you have paragraph one.

This paragraph starts off with a “topic sentance”, then you go on to explain this point…

My question is, what do you write in the last sentance of this paragraph? Do you link it back to the topic sentance at the start of the paragraph? or do you link it back to the overall topic question?

thanks!

You want to make it a transistion sentance. This is what they call making it flow.

blah blah blah, furthermore, there are also other compelling reasons one shouldn’t get an abortion.

Intro paragraph (DO NOT FORGET THE THESIS! (Eg: Dogs are better then cats because they are more active, more loyal, and will protect the family), then

1st body paragraph which is:

Topic sentence: Many people debate whether dogs are better than cats, but if you have an active lifestyle, dogs are a real winner.blah blah blah. Transition end sentence: Dogs may be active, but they have many other traits that set the apart from cats.

So you should link it to the topic sentence, but also have readers ready for the next paragraph (aka well what other traits do they have? Tada…. loyalty, next paragraph)
