It was a good idea to quit my lame job and got back to college at 30, right?

Sometimes, I feel trapped in a time warp. Like how can I still be HERE in this stage of life? Anyone identify?

I totally relate to how you feel I will be 28 when I finally start college and I still kick myself in *** for not going right after high school cause taking a year off to figure out what I wanted to do turned into 9 years and now I’m scared I will have a harder time keeping up with the class cause I’ve been out of the learning groove. I know once I’m finished It will all be worth it and it will be something to be very proud of and I’m sure you will feel the same way once its over.

If I were you, I would work on a career while taking only one class every semester or quarter. You could take a break during the summer. (just work, no school) At least, by the time you are 35 you’ll have a degree. I am still working on my degree slowly at 40 years old (taking classes at my convenience) but already make 100k per year in sales. There are only 2 people in my office out of 60 that do not have degrees (myself and my manager) but I am better than most of them because of persistence and people skills. My sales manager never went a day to college and makes well over 100k. Insurance or real estate may be the way to go…It is possible to get a good job without a degree, but you have to look sharp, be 100% on your computer skills, be smart, and be charming. πŸ™‚ My husband has an MBA and only makes 50k per year. Go figure. I come from a family of teachers who have slammed me constantly for waiting so late for finishing my degree, but I saw them struggle on their tiny teacher’s salaries with a degree and I knew I needed to do something else. Good luck to you! You can do it.

I was always told to go to college because when you get old, it will tell on you. Basically meaning you will have to struggle because you don’t specialze in anything. You ARE making the right decison because you still ARE young and you realize that anything worth having in life is worth fighting for.

BUT, you still need to work to pay the current bills that you have. I wouldn’t reccommend taking out loans, hopefully it’s not too late, because you can get free grants and scholarships.

A community college would be best to begin with for convinence, cost, and more one on one time with your teachers. Community colleges offer great resources to help you with any questions or areas of weakness in studies that you may have.

You would gain an associates degree, that’s if you want to stop there. You can continue your education and gain a bachelor’s, but that’s up to you.

You are your own motivation as well as down fall. Stay positive and know that you can do anything you put your mind to!!!

Yes Yes Yes it was a great decision. I already have a degree and Masters in my field but have been unsatisfied, like something was missing. I will now start my undergraduate Law degree next January when I will be 31 and am so excited. It is never too late to do a degree and I personally believe learning something is so important and enriches our lives. You should be so proud of yourself, you will achieve great success. Also, it’s a great time to go to college – you are more focused than you would have been in your early 20’s. Cheers to you. All the best.

be happy in anything you do in life. make the most of it!

You went back to college for a reason, probably to better yourself. which is always a good thing at any stage of life you are in.

I can identify, I went back for my masters at 28. At that time there were older and younger people in the classes. Which I would assume is the same case for you.

I know a lot of people who are in the late 30s early 40s that are in college. I don’t think any of them regret going back because now they have the opportunity to do something that they love and can be proud of doing.

It was a very good move! I am 34, single mom, although I didn’t quit my job, I did go to part time and went back to college. It is never too late or wrong to improve yourself and strive for better.
