is this good for now?

I’m currently a freshman in highschool, and I’m aware that i might be a little too young to worry about college, but how does this sound for my resume so far?…

*I take part in Albany Park where you go to an elementary school in south chicago and help kids with science projects and crafts (community service)

*I kind of have a job… you come in early before school or your sudy hall and help clean out supplies for photography, you get paid $8.50 per hour… “fake job” photography assistant

* I will take part on the advisory board for my camp where you plan reunions, activities, some charity work, and ideas for next summer

* I haven’t decided yet, but possibly I might join Relay for life which is also considered community service

*In the spring I will try out for either soccer or xcountry

impressive for a start?

… i didn’t include my grades so far cause school just started

I am a senior now, and I am applying to a whole bunch of very competitive schools. Even the Ivy Leagues say that the amount of activities you squeeze in is not nearly as important as using your activities to display your passion. So, instead of stacking your resume (which is easily done), go for activities that say something about you personally or involve leadership and responsibility. So far your activities look great for freshman year. However, don’t make unwise commitments because quitting an activity can be more detrimental to your resume than anything you would gain by doing it in the first place. Colleges want to accept students who display both diligence and ability to make logical choices.

You’re worrying a bit too much here for a high school freshmen though it’s nice to be prepared. Colleges want students who demonstrate a passion or interest in something. Can you write an outstanding essay about your extracurriculars? Do your activity show that you are interested in a certain field? Basically, what I’m saying is that don’t just do extracurricular activities just for the heck of filling up the application; make sure they actually prove a point. For example, if you want to be a doctor, volunteer to help patients; if you want to be a mathematician, compete in math contests…etc…
